Warranty expiring soon - What to look out for?

Hi
The warranty on my 2006 Megane is due to expire in August,I've put 21000 miles on the car. Are there any known issues or common faults that I should be looking out for before the warranty expires, they may be repaired under the warranty. Apart from a central locking issue my car have been very reliable for the past 3 years, but I am worried once the warranty expires I may come across something I could have had fixed while still in warranty.
I am aware of common things like the headlight bulbs blowing all the time, and the rattles, but I'm more concerned about mechanical issues such as engine, suspension, etc. I have read on another forum that the suspension bushes wear out quickly, is this the case and does the warranty cover it.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

As far as i know, you can extend the warranty on ur car for another year or two, provided that u owned the car from new, whcih will give u a full manufactures warranty!

Chatted about a cost of £400+, but said it could come down!
However if ur the second owner from new, u can still extend the warranty, only it doesnt cover half as much as the manufactures warranty, and is prob a waste of time!

Ring ur local renault dealer, and query it with them, but that what i was told when i bought my current car!

I think you'll get better information if you give more details about your car (ie engine, transmission, doors, equipment etc). Some models have specific problems.

I know some folk with warranties about to expire put their cars through an RAC Inspection (as you would to buy a "new" second hand car) - any problems can be highlighted and the dealer is obliged to fix them as this is essentailly an independant assessment of the cars health. I, unfortunately owned one of the ealry Meganes 11/03 and the depahser went at 26 K miles 4 months out of warranty. Renault Customer Services were of no help and I had to pay the £ 600 fix.
In turn when they ask me to buy a new Renault I'm as receptive as they were then.

When I bought my Megane from a Renault dealer last Tuesday (57 plate) with 1 1/2 years manufacturers warranty left on it they were offering a deal whereby you could extend the warranty on the car for as long as you own it for a one off payment of £400.? Think this might be similar to what Kevin mentioned earlier! They said to me at the time I didn't need to worry about that right now as I had just bought the car still with the 1 1/2 years warranty on it and that I can take that option out near the time of the expiry!
As Kevin mentions though I would still like to know exactly what is covered by this 'Extended' £400 warranty and whether it's going to be worth it..!? For me warranties are peace of mind should drastic and expensive things start to go wrong with the car as it ages, but again it's no good having this warranty is it only covers a blown rear brake bulb and thats it!!!

Well regulators have a 4 year warranty or 40k miles.....so thats safe till then.
Other things are Engine\Gearbox Mounts, Ball Joints, Track Rod Ends, Top Shock Mounts and Drop Links. Brakes (Particularly heavey worn discs) is also a common thing but this will be done on your regular service yearly.
These are the main wear and tear items. Things on the side are more less electrical gremlins, these never occur or show thier issues until it happens so its a simple "your guess is as good as mine" on how long you wait to get one.
At 21k i dont think ul experience many tell tail signs to be honest. Although getting your hands dirty under the hood is not such a bad thing either!

the only major concern i would have is the dephaser issue, but at the age of your car is should "supposidly" have the latest version of the dephaser which "apparently" fairs better..but if it did go, it would cost you £118 for the part and whatever fitting, etc. is
i'd keep the £400 in the bank, if you need it, it's there, if you don't...great!
