front springs twisting with noise

hello lads i am new to this forum ( i am a member of the evo based forum the MLR) . i have a problem with my other car a 2004 megane 15 dci , i am getting a strange nosie from the front springs when i turn the steering as if they are twisting also abit of a knocking sound when i hit a bump . hope some one can help cheers . johnny

noise over a bump would normally be ball joints or suspension bushes.
if its a "twang" noise and only at low speed corners (or turning wheel when stopped) then likey to be the top suspension mounts - common on the megane.

Agree, sounds like top strut mounts, does it do it at car parking speeds, ie quite slow with a lot of quick steering movements? If you get someone to rock the steering wheel whilst you hold onto the front spring you will feel them jumping as the top mount sticks and cause some resitance then when it does move it does so sharply causing the srping to jump in its mounting.
