Hi
Just recently got an ex fleet Megane Sport Tourer 1.5DCi 106 which was registered in Dec 2005 (55)
My Question is I thought megane's generally had 60l fuel tanks but the fuel gauge was showing next to no fuel in the tank, when I filled it up it stopped at 42l which would suggest it has a 45l tank.
Will my car have a 45l tank or is there some other problem??
Thanks for your help

Re: Sport Tourer Fuel Tank
IT says on the renualt website that the tourers feul tank is 60 litres, it even says for my Megane CC its 60 litres.
So when the red light is on, on my dash i put approx £40 - £45 of unleaded fuel in the tank @ 84p a litre that works out at 48 - 53 litres of fuel.
Theres should be a fuel computer function in the middle of your dash (operated by the button on the end of the wiper stork) that shows "miles till empty" they can run for a fair distance with the red light on so that would sujest that there could be quiet a bit left in the fuel tank.
They only way you will get the full 60 litres into the tank is to have the tank pratically bone dry, which isnt recomened with diesels anyway or get anywhere close to it by filling the tank rite up the filler neck.

Re: Sport Tourer Fuel Tank
The trip computer (at least on my facelifted 06) has a fuel used reading in gallons. 13.2 gallons is 60l, so if you reset the trip computer at fill-up, you can tell how much fuel has been used. I've managed a fill of just over 56l, for well over 700 miles worth of driving...

Thanks for all the replies.
Possibly there was more in the reserve tank than I'd expected, certainly all running fine and showing 50+ miles to the gallon
