I had this problem on my old Megane.I just took it to my local dealer and they replaced the cracked ones with new ones. They didn't cost anything as it was still under warranty but I can't see it being expensive if you did have to purchase them.

this is one of the common "cosmetic" issues with the megane..along with the badly fading of the black triangle trim just ahead of the front doors. some people had them replaced under warranty...but there will be a lot of 3+ year old cars with these issues now.

What do you reckon Renault would charge for the caps if the guy on ebay sells the loy for £1.20?

Probably somewhere in the region of 10 sheets each...they aren’t called the stealers for no reason!

Surely you could fit them yourself? Maybe you could get the cracked ones off with something (careful not to wreck 'em though!) and slot the new ones on?

I bought some replacement end caps off fleabay cost around £10 for 4, the rear doors are a pain in the arse to change but once you have done one the other is easier

if you open the drivers door you will notice a hole with a rubber stopper in it, remove that.
Then get a metal coat hanger or something similar and make a small hook on the end.
Now look inside the hole you will see a metal leaver use your hook to hook it and pull towards you, the end cap will then pull out, remember to put the leaver back when you have replaced the end cap to hold it in place, this is the same process for the front passengers door too

The rear doors are similar but you have to do a bit more fishing to get hold of the leaver
