I have a 05 megane 1.6 vvt with k4m engine,is there a easy way to tell if a coil pack is failing? Would there be a noticeable drop in mpg?(currently getting around 44ish on motorway) Would there be an indication on the dash if a coil was failing? heard a lot of people having problems with coil packs, for peace of mind was considering changing the whole set of coils as do a lot of miles and need it to be reliable,my car is under an extended warranty but dealer says that no misfires have been logged in there diagnostic check?

Would changing the coils myself invalidate my warranty?

2 of my coils have gone in the last year out of the 4, they have gone at different times, the way I found to tell was the ride was really bouny, like if you have your head on the head rest it bounces up and down!

They are really cheap and easy to replace though! It only takes about 5 mins, and I think it was about £20.00 per pack!
