Cost of cambelt service 1.9 Dci

Postby garlum » Sun Sep 21, 2008 12:39 am

Hi.

Does anyone know how much I can expect to pay for a 1.9DCi cambelt change service at 72k miles? I expect this to be in a year or so time, and I'd like to plan ahead if it's an expensive one! If it's really expensive then I might exercise my option to return the vehicle instead, which depends a lot on how well the car behaves between now and then :)

Cheers.

just had mine done the other day at 60k but the car is 5 years old so got it done as a safety measure.

Cost me just under £300.

Hope this helps

thats what I payed as well. but you can also go to your dealer of choice and have him tell you the price, it should be fixed and be also valid (roughly) in a years' time

OK thanks guys. I had read somewhere on the Internet that it was a lot more than that. So that's a bit of a relief.

Thanks again.

The 1.9DCi is an easy belt to replace even for the home mechanic.. The book time is 1.7 hrs..

If you are around the swindon area then I would do it for £200 using a "Gates" belt kit which is the same item as your dealer will use..

My cambelt is due in 2000 miles, i had a quote off my local renault dealer... whcih was sutton park renault in burton-on-trent... they quoted me £450 for a cambelt change, absolute rip off, at least on here i see people paying around £300 which is more reasonable, so i will shop around

My local Ren, Newtownards Northern Ireland. Have a big sign up at the moment saying... Cam Belt change £99.99.

Not sure if any others are doing this offer.
