The Mégane II Owners' Club

On idling the engine creates enough vibration to cause the back edge of the sunroof to vibrate, which is a bit irritating! Has anyone had this problem, and if so is it fixable? I've had a little look at the mechanism and I haven't been able to see any obvious way of tightening it up. Any suggestions would be helpful.

sounds like the seal has gone

You could try re-greasing where it slides but, iirc, it needs to be a certain type of grease, try searching for sunroof and see what posts come up.

Thanks for the above. I've checked the mechanism which looks well greased. I think the problem is just that the back eadge of the glass vibrates on tick over enough to rattle against the rubber. I'll try cleaning the rubbers to see if that helps a bit, but I think it's going to be a matter of keeping the radio on! Incidentally the noises that come from the sunroof when it's very cold are even more irritating. I suppose it's a matter of design over practicalities. I love the sunroof and I wouldn't have bought the car without it, but it is a bit annoying sometimes!

i have a rattle from the front bit that sounds like a bit of loose metal hanging somewhere, it rattles when idling. But its only when i have the cover shut on the sunroof. it goes away when i leave it open.
I was thinking it may be something to do with the spring pulling back the cover?
