I own a 57 reg megane (1 year old in september) the dash said 11000 miles til next service. I have just received a letter to say the service is due and the dash now says service due. When I contacted Nationwise Autocentre they say it's not due until 18000 miles or 2 years. Does anyone know which is right ? I imagine it'll be the letter from renault and the car display.
Benfield want to charge £230 for a service and nationwide £165 (manufacturers spec). As the car has only done 7000 miles and it's only a oil and filter change and cabin filter - £230 seems abit steep.
Also has anyone had problems with brakes ? they squeal everytime you apply the brake. I know a few people to have this problem with megane's and is apparently a common fault. Hoepfully with only 7000miles on the clock renault will deal with the brakes under warrenty - probably not though.

Re: Service and brakes
I agree with the 18 k or 2 years as is the case on the older models (I have a 11/2003 5 door ) , but I also have a cc (6/06 reg) and its service intervals are annually.
As for price I'm paying about £ 170 for the oil change and £ 240 for the major service on the older car. The cc annual service is usually £ 220 or so.

Re: Service and brakes
- should have added they are both petrol
Re: Service and brakes
Check the service book carefully. 18,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes the soonest. If you are in a dusty environment or do a lot of stop/start motoring and short journeys then you should get serviced more often.

Re: Service and brakes
Hi, If your car has a Euro 3 engine then the service schedule is 18,000 or 2 years, whichever comes first. If you have a Euro 4 engine then it is every 12 months
