I HAVE SINCE LET THE CAR COOL AND TAKEN IT ON A ANOTHER SHORT RUN HOPING IT WAS THE CAR JUST GETTING HOT OR OVER WORKED ON THE ALPINE ROADS BUT IT IS STILL HAPPENING. IT OCCURS AT 1500 TO 1600 RPM JUST WHEN THE TURBO WINDS UP, DUE TO DRIVE HOME THURS ANY IDEAS PLEASE. I HAVE AA COVER BUT WAS LOATHE TO USE IT BECAUSE IF THE CAR CANT BE FIXED IT TAKES UP TO TWO WEEKS TO RETURN IT TO THE UK, ONLY ADVANTAGE TO THIS IS IT SAVES ME 1000 MILES ON THE CLOCK :-(

Sounds like the sixth gear syncromesh keys maybe worn..
If it is still in warranty Renault will replace the box.

If out of warranty you have three options.
1: Have the box rebuild by a transmission specialist/independant.
2: Fit a second hand box
3: Or take it to your dealer where they will tell you to replace the box as they are not allowed to dismantle them.. (at the Korean dealer I am at now I have to rebuild gearboxes on a daily basis as they see it as the most cost effective option)

For you info the 6 speed is gearbox code ND0..

You could drive it back in 5th of course, a little slower than you would do in 6th if recover is difficult..
