digital display failure

my digital display and the radio controls on the steering wheel have both failed... the display flickered for a while before it gave up the ghost .. everything else seems to be ok

Sounds electrical - but if there is talk of replacing your instrument panel make sure the dealer stamps your service book to evidence the mileage - the odometer is reset to 0 with a new instrument panel!

Incidentally i have heard failure of the stereo remote is common...
