The Mégane II Owners' Club

I know Scoop has warned us of this in the pre-purchase section...but..just how do you get the bloody key in!
Does the black key handle face the front or back of the car?
Should the key be held almost flush with the bodywork when inserting or out about 40deg or somewhere in between?
How much force is usually needed? Should it just glide in?
Please help.

I have no problems with my emergency-key at all! It just slides in, the black handle pointing towards the back of the car. I've taken these pictures for you:

OH KJ thankyou sooo much. I cannot believe I hadn't figured that out. The guy I bought the car off said the key just should slide into the little hole in the cover and automatically open. I now realize I have to remove the cover which reveals the real keyhole.
