clunking car

Postby jono35 » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:03 pm

1.6VVT 52 plate 50k miles

Hello all
Yesterday driving home from work I noticed when I put the brakes on then accelerate after, there’s a clunking noise I think from the front end. Appears worse if turning right. I’ve jacked the car up and tried to move wheels and it seems ok. My question is. Is there any sort of test for the ball joints or engine mounts or does anyone have any other ideas what it could be?

Thanks
:conf

Could be a CV joint on it's way out. :(

It could be a worn CV joint, loose steering rack bolts, a worn engine mount (usually the gearbox mount on the underside of the car is the first to go) or something in the suspension...
