Pollen Filter PICS

Postby damiansaint » Tue Jun 17, 2008 5:33 pm

Just a few questions and pics

1)I have a 1.5 Authentique with no A/C. Do I need a pollen filter
2) Pic 1 below I presume where the pollon filter goes, Is this the right spot
3) Is mine missing, see all pic espicially 3+4 it looks like a big blank space there, hence I have leaves coming through the vents.

You are right, the filter slots in to the right of that white plastic thingy in pic 2.

I would put a filter in...normally cars without AC don't have one afaik but why not? If the slot is there you would be wise to put a filter in, methinks....

cheers for the confirmation. I would have thought it came with a Pollen filter as you will get leaves etc coming through the vents which is what I have got. I am assuming this is what are causing the leaves to come through. Do you think there could be a build up of leaves somewhere I can get to clean them out.

Also I take it having the 1.5 DCI Authentique I am right in saying that it's service is every 18k miles or 2 years and that it is a NON FAP car

Here are some pics of how it is done on a german LHD car....the filter sits in the same place as in your car, so this might give you an impression:

We on our LHD cars have to remove the complete glove compartment as well as the passenger airbag switch cover and some part of the heating to change this filter.....typical french craftmanship... Image

The service interval will depend on manufacturing date as well as spec of the engine (power output). It seems Renault keep changing (eg dCi 100 was 18k, dCi 106 12k, dCi 106 from sometime in 2007 18k). The computer will tell you when it's time for a service.
