Pollen Filter - leaves coming through fans

Postby damiansaint » Tue Jun 17, 2008 9:30 am

I take it this is not supposed to happen. I have only had the car a few days. I was going to look to see if there is a pollen filter in.

How hard is it to get to and where is it located.

Any advice is appreciated.

For the Megane II the pollen filter is down near your clutch pedal remove the cover and you should be able to zigzag the filter out.

Do all megans have a pollen filter?

Mine does not have A/C but I think the pollen filter needs changing as there are leave blowing through the air vents.

Any advice is greatly welcomed

The Renault Compact 7887 alarm (Thatcham cat 1) was fitted as standard to the Dynamique and above. It may have been an option on the Authentique and Expression so check your handbooks for any give away paperwork about whether you have one or not.

Both of ours have filters, pre and post facelift, derv and a petrol air con on both,

popped into allfrauds the other day to try and get filter, quoted as special order and cost £20, anyone got contact or details for cheaper.

Although it is possible to get the old filter out this way (it will crack/break on pre-defnined points), you will have to remove the dashboard cabinet before you can put in the new filter.

The crack pre defined points are there for a reason. Bought and fitted the pollen filter the other day and you have to crack it into small pieces to get it in. Once you do this it goes in fine. Its been 3 weeks since its been fitted and the leaves noise blowing tthrough the fans have stopped althogether

The filter was £15 from renaul direct and they had it in stock

Have you been able to get it in without removing the dashboard cabinet?
Removing this is the standard procedure when the filter is replaced at my local Renault dealer.

Yes, crack it before installation. It is described in the official manual, see p.70 here:
https://meganedoksi.uw.hu/MEGANE_II/MR364MEGANE6.PDF

This manuals are pointed at in my message in Links.
