Door Regulator

Hi all
Sorry if this has been asked b4 but here goes, I have just discovered my driver door window won't go up and it appears to be "stuck". I have been advised by Renault that the door regulator is US and that it's gonna cost me £370.00 to repair!!

(jez).
I have seen on eBay the window regulator for about £45.00. I have tried to remove the door panel but it does not wish to leave the door. it a ridiculous price to pay and know Renault is ripping me off (as usual). Its two month out of date and they won't touch it. I have looked on you tube for videos but cannot anything that helps. As a youth (those were the days) I stripped down many an old mini 1275 GT engine on my mums kitchen table (much to my fathers amusement), I 'm not too technically inept. Any suggestions would help as I’m thinking of having a pop at it but if you think it's a no go I’d appreciate some help.
Kind regards and thanks for you advice
Dave

I bought a window regulator off ebay and even managed to fit it myself. I am next to useless when it comes to cars but I found it easy enough .

I too cannot get the door panel off. Anyone know how? I have got out 4 screws - 2 underneath, 1 behind the handle and 1 behind the lock release.

If i remember correctly there is another under the material part of the door card so the storage box and window controls has to be removed the material part of the card will just unclip and lift up oh and there are 2 screws behind the pull handle the front just unclips and the control for your mirrors is just a turn to get off.
My rear drivers side window has stopped working so i will have a look at that if the weather stays fine tomorrow.

Have a look at the 'Index of manuals and technical notes' post and download and print MR365MEGANE7.pdf
That has all the info on removing the door card.
If you are replacing a renault regulator you will have to fit the motor to the regulator you get on ebay. The regulator will look different but it will fit and work, just follow the fitting instructions.

theres 2 x 10 mm ( i think) bolts at the bottom of the door
a little pop off cover on the door open handle
pop the trim off on the handle (houses the window switches on passenger side) theres 2 screws behind this
open the door pocket, theres a plastic clip in here holding the door pocket in, remove this.. theres 1 screw then located in the opening.
remove the speaker grill cover, theres 2 screw holding in the speaker
theres 3 screws in triangle formation by the speaker holding the window motor in
now lift the doorcard from buttom and push upwards.
i recently done the nearside front on a 3door.... think the above was all.... i was cussing and swearing doing this when i had too... lol it was dark and raining and my window was stuck down.....
hope that helps

hi.. just reading this. I have a simlar problem.
My window goes down when i press the button to go down, but it also goes down when i press up, therefore i cant do a window reset on it...
however, when i double lock the car the window goes back up fine..
Ive tried the switch on the d
rivers panel, and on the door itself.. both do the same.
regulator???? or summat more expensive???

This seems to be 'the issue' of our times. There is no conclusive cure. If you search around you will find lots of posts about it - one maybe more relevant to your problem than others. Alex has taken his door panel off and dried out a pad, Ulrich has done a similar thing but not found any such pad (or vice versa, I can't remember off hand). It could be the switches, regulators, wiring loom, or something else. If you find the 'ultimate solution' be sure to give feedback!
The best way to search the site is to go to google.co.uk and enter in the search box:
window regulator site:www.meganeownersclub.co.uk
or
window deadlock site:www.meganeownersclub.co.uk
Try some variations... sorry can't help any further....
