electrical failure

I have had my megane dynamique 1.4 04 reg a week valeted it sun left windows to dry open put key card in all warning lights flashed unable to turn over starter then nothing, No power to starting or interior just 4 indicator lights on all the time without hazard switch on. main fuse 350amp between + bat post and alternator and starter has blown tried to jump start large flash from positive side like their is a direct short somewhere. Any help please before I start looking.

Water ingress is possible. I hope pressure washer was not used on your car and you did not let anyone to open the bonnet.

Thanks for the reply, but no i did not have presure washer bonnet was closed just washed the seats and floor carpets the only other thing I touched was the steering wheel adjustment up down then locked this back in place, my heart is sunk I just dont no where to start.

Did you have time to look at the car? By your description it is the starter, which is unrelated to valeting the interior...

I just checked -- the big fuse (350A in petrol and 400A in diesels cars) protects 4 circuits:
-- starter;
-- alternator;
-- fuse board and
-- Engine Compartment Connection Unit on the left side (port) under the bonnet. This thing often gets affected by water ingress if the hatch under the left front wheel arch is missing.

Thanks Alex you were right, turned out it was the fuse that had blown 320amp after the starter had jamed it also sent my battery down to earth fixed all that started fine, now my rear tail gate will not open, heater blower and aircon not working, abs light on dash saying electronic failure aaaaaarrrrrgh !!!!

I hope you've reset everything by disconnecting the battery for long enough (30 minutes)... The glitch might have upset all electronics. Am I right?
