Strange Radio Problem

Postby t1ct4c » Fri May 16, 2008 1:41 pm

Hi everyone,

Just found this forum, sadly my first post is going to be about a problem :(

Last year my wife and I bought a Renault Clio 2.0 Dynamequie (excuse the spelling) and I opted to purchase the Renault Megan GT (Diesel). All has been well, could not fault either car and we both have been very impressed.

After not driving the Megane for about 3 days I then started the car to go to work. Pulled off the drive etc and just assumed I must have turned the radio off at some point. When attempting to turn the radio back on it takes about 20 seconds for the display to update, which then seems to go into 'Search' mode and remains doing so. I was able to stop and restart the car (had a funny problem with the window screen wipes that was cured by this method), on restarting the car the radio springs straight back into life.

I have had this problem all week now, the car is due to go in for its first service in 2 weeks so thought I would wait until then, but has anyone come across this issue before? I had noticed from the forum a good number of issues relating to water getting into the fuse box or the battery spiking. To my knowledge it had not rained over the weekend in question, in fact it was very warm indeed.

I cannot imagine the hot weekend (in the UK) was enough to do any damage to the car :(

Any advice much apprecaited.

David & Mervin the Megane :)

Remove and replace the fuse to "reset" the unit?

If I remove the fuse will I need to re-enter the radio code? (not that it is a problem, just want to make sure).
