Panoramic Roof

Hi everybody,

My roof has been fine up until now and today it won't open, the back of the front piece of glass taps against the back piece of glass and for safety it closes, it works perfectly if I put my hand at the back just to help it up a little.

Is there a simple fix for it?

I would guess that maybe the rear slider has broken because as soon as you try to open the roof - it should rise first, ie: before it starts to slide backwards. I'm only guessing on this but you could get a friend to try lifting the rear of the roof as you operate the control knob. Worth a try and you will know in which direction to look.

Sorry - didn't read your post correctly, you have already tried my suggestion! In that case I would give the rear sliders a squirt of WD40 or similar, they might be stiff after the winter period.

Plenty of silicone lubricant on it throughout my ownership and it slides well unless I have mixed the rear slider position?
