Hello, New member in need of some help, I have a 2003 Megane 1.4 16v extreme, Car was going great until last week, I noticed the idle speed creeping up, I've been told its normal for the idle to be around 1000rpm when you've just come to a stop and then it drops to 800 rpm when the car is stationary which it was doing, last week the idle speed raised to 2000rpm which mean't I also had problems selecting 1st gear to pull away, The idle speed did increase once to 3000rpm when the engine check light came on and message "check injection", Was informed this was possibly a throttle body problem may need cleaning or replacing, Had a new throttle body fitted, Main dealer Re programmed the ECU which I was informed would need doing after a new throttle body had been fitted, But the car still ticks over at 1200 rpm, tried a coolant sensor in case this was giving the wrong readings to the ECU, I have had the car scanned and no fault codes logged or are active, Has anyone got any idea's or had the same problem as this has cost a small fortune already and I'm running out of cash,
Thanks.

Re: high idle speed
If cleaning the throttle doesn't help, you could try temporarily disconnecting/reconnecting the battery and going through the ECU relearning procedure.
It's probably in the online manual links section somewhere, and I have posted it on here before based on the Haynes approach.
