Hi was just wondering if anyone else has had there megane fail its FIRST MOT, there was excessive play in one of the steering bushes and the rear off side brake binding on a 3year old car i think that it pretty poor, the car is booked in at sunwin renault this friday before it runs of warranty on 4th of april so hopefully they will fix the problems under warranty. I have owned many cars which have passed their first MOT, antoher shining example of the "Great" build quality of renaults

my 2004 Megane has passed both its MOT's. I've also had my fair share of problems with it.. but the problems died down after the warranty expired weirdly? Its a hit or miss with reliability I think!

Our 2004 Scenic with 70k miles on it passed it's second M.O.T. without anything needing doing. I think you're problem is either a lack of servicing or your dealer being very slack in noticing things that they should be fixing. How many miles have you done?

Kemp have you shopped around for insurance. Mine runs out next week and just had quote for £230 fully comp. 8years ncb, i've 3points(prob don't count) wife on there too with a claim couple of years ago. do approx 24000 miles a year, business use too and the car is on drive over night. £550 seems steep for a car that is 18months younger!!!

Yeah mine is 1.9 dci. just renewed it with swinton. £231.62 that includes courtesy car. Legal cover was extra £25. Elephant came up similar price too. Quite funny because i was with swinton last year and had the usual rip off renewal through of £303(loyalty just doesn't exist does it?) rang them to tell them not to renew as i could get it cheaper, they said fine, no questions of where or how much. I then go on the usual comparison sites to be told swinton can do it for £231!!Baffling. Sites i used were tesco compare, go compare, confused and moneysupermarket. Good Luck.
