Hi, im a new member and this is my first post. Has anyone else had any problems with their front wipers. On my trip computer its telling me I have a wiper fault and the wiper is on medium speed so it cant be the fuse. Could it be a faulty sensor?

Cheers

this is my first post too but i have the answer
i have a few cars but love the mk 11 cc convertible
i had the same problem and ....... can say i solved it with the help of renault uk based in morecambe lancs

these people were fantastic,

when you put the wipers on the first click which should be auto, is that when the service light comes on
does the intermittent wiper action not work
does it just work continuously

when you try n use the auto lights does the service light come on until you put the lights on too
with a wiper fault
a light fault coming up in the message on the dash
the answer is a fuse under the bonnet
remove the battery, on the right hand side under plastic , you will see another main fuse assembly
take the cover off and turn it over you will see a fuse diagram
notice the three 7.5 amp fuses
two of them are together, ignore them
the one on its own is the one that covers the auto sensor
if you are careful, you can remove it with either long nose pliers or even the fuse tool from the internal fuse board located on the right hand side of the glove box, WITHOUT REMOVING THE WHOLE BOARD OUT OF THE CAR AS YOU CAN SEE IT UNDERNEATH , FACING YOU
remember to make a note of the radio and cd codes BEFORE you disconnect the battery unlike me ok lol

please let me know how you get on cause it was driving me nuts to have to disconnect the auto lights
andrew
happy motoring

just thought id say, that blown fuse might not be for everyone. As i found out as i searched the net.
i looked at that fuse and all of them for that matter and not 1 was blown.
my wipers work continuously when put on auto/intermittent and my auto lights dont work either.

i think the problem is on your rain/light sensor.

did you changed your windshield recently?

sometimes is just the "gel" that doesnt allow the proper working of the sensor. the sensor it self is very reliable. good luck

Missing or incorrectly installed gel won't give an error on the dash though. Have you checked the 3amp fuse under the flap in the glove box. There are only 2 fuses for this - the 3 amp in the glove box or a 7.5 under the bonnet. Failing that, it will probably be the sensor.

yup, i checked the 7.5 amp fuse last week. i checked every fuse under the bonnet and in the glove nox and not one was blown!

well there was a blown one under the bonnet,it was 25a replaced it and dont know what it did as nothing seems different lol
