HELP....My '53 Megane Dynamique is driving me up the wall!

This is my second post in 2wks. I desperately need someones help, perhaps someone who has experienced the same issues as me.
I love my little car its nippy etc BUT.....I've only had it since Nov '07 & I'm regretting it! In January I had the 'Change oil soon' come up so I had it serviced. New filters plugs oil change etc. In Feb I had the toxic fume light come on with loss of power, after reading on this website I had all of the coils replaced £175.00 but now.......This is whats driving me crazy, whenever I press start I get a horrible noise like a grrrrrrr noise then it stalls. Its been happening once every couple of weeks since I've had the care but its becoming my frequent. It's annoying me & now every morning my partner goes out before me & starts it!
I've head on this site that it could be a TDC or crank sensor & this kind of fault doesn't show on a diagnostic. A friend at work paid £100 to have a sensor replaced which hasn't resolved the issue & he's been told it will be another sensor situated near the cambelt & will cost about £500.
Please....Please....Please can someone give me some practical advise. God dame it.....I wish i bought that Corsa!!!!!!!
Thanks
Amanda
