Can't get into car

Hello.

Need some help/advise please.

Basically the Megane has been sitting on our drive for a couple of weeks after purchasing a new car.
The problem lies with the fact that the battery has died :( and we can't get into the car.

Easy you think, open the pessenger side using the key.....well.....the passenger door is right up against the wall, and i mean right up against the wall. I can basically only open the door about an inch or two!

What can i do??
Is there any way of getting into the boot?
Is there any way of popping the bonnet so i can charge the battery?

Help!!

Bobster :-(

You might actually need to put a window through to get out of this one unless you want to pay for a recovery vehicle to move your car two or three feet. I can't honestly think of another way to get into it.

Try and borrow a couple of trolley jacks and drag it away from the wall.

If you can open the passenger door "an inch or two" maybe you can hook the bonnet release with a long piece of wire, or a noose on the end of a broomstick, or ... (and a lot of luck, of course).

or if you're feeling desperate and want an adrenaline rush, get some friends to lift the rear end and drag the car back... or just push it from the front...

Just an update.......it's sorted.

I forgot i left the handbrake off, however i did leave it in gear so i couldn't push it anyway.

Well, it could have been pushed but i would have needed a couple of people to help. Plus the wheels where pointing in such a way that if the car was pushed too far it would have went strait into the wall

So, in the end (i owe Jonault a beer for the idea) I managed to jack most of the front up on a trolley jack while my neighbour pushed from behind and i lifted the passenger side wheel area to stop it dragging. We managed to drag it just far enough away from the wall to be able to open the door and pop the bonnet......result!!! :)

Cheers for the help/idea guys

***Why do Renault put the manual lock on the passenger side???***

it's the drivers side for everyone else in europe
i think putting the steering wheel on the correct side is a major upset for them!!!

I'm glad you're sorted. The only thing to do with a good idea is pass it on.

Sorry to hear your predicament...However..

just think how much you've saved on repairs, niggley faults etc by not using it for two weeks..
