bleep when starting

when i start the car, it bleeps three times and a get this horizontal curly line across the top screen- (the one that says oil ok level ok).

I thought that was the correct way for the car to start!

the beeping normally is associated with the car alarm going off.
as for the curly thing... i've no idea unless it's the pre-heat symbol on diesel engines.

i don't get beeping (unless my alarm goes off) but i get the curly line (as I have a diesel engine) for a few seconds when I start the car on a cold day

Dont get the curly line or the bleeping, only time i get a single bleep is when i start the car while the fuel gauge is flashing on the last digit (red).
