Rear Tyre issue with Megane Estate 55 plate

Rear Tyre issue with Megane Estate 55 plate
Hi All,
Just a quick query about the excessive tyre wear i have had on my wifes megane estate,
10 Feb 2007 4 x Goodyear eage F1 fitted to my wifes megane
Dec 2007 car went into renault with a rumblong vinbration coming from the rear wheels technician could not find a problem said it was tyre noise.
Jan 08 car went back in to Renault with me and another test drive found rear two tyres worn almost through to banding with a ripple in center of running tyre face.
Tyres have less than 8000 miles on them.
Please help

dont want to point obvious but are tyre pressures correct,
overinflated tend to wear in middle of tread,
underinflated on edges of tread,
if wear on one side of tread could be tracking/geometry

technician could not find a problem
No suprise there then,
Very unusual tho to have this problem on a front wheel drive car, does suggest very high tyre pressures as stated, what are the fronts like? what are the tyre pressures?
I seriously suggest that you cannot wipe out a set of rear tyres on a Megane in that mileage and remain out of jail. Excepting what I and others said before
Edited to add I have a 55 plte estate that had a new set of tyres fitted at 27K when I bought it a year ago. Over 9k later they still look the same, but I do drive like a granny.
Thinking again, I'll have to give that up, what was the mileage completed on the original tyres?, might give a clue as to any underlying probs
There can be problems with the rear 'tracking'.My meg.sport tourer seems to eat up the n/s/r outer edge only & YES my tyre preesures are checked weekly.Went to dealer when car was in warranty,to be told the rear tracking was 'within tolerences'.Also the only adjustments that can be made is via some bolts that sit in slotted holes that will allow the axle to pivot,with no other camber/caster adjustments.Therefore logic says if the axle will only pivot & there is excessive tyre wear on the n/s/r outer edge,then why isn't the inside edge of the offside tyre wearing....main dealer answer ?'no idea sir'.So if there is no caster adjustment on rear wheels,that means that my n/s/r wheel is closer to the n/s/f wheel,than my o/s/r is to the o/s/f.

RE RE rear tyres
Thanx all for the prompt replies,
Firstly the tyre pressures are checked weekly by my wife
I have noticed that both rear wheel angle in towards the center of the car at a slight angle but it seems to be more of an angle than my own Freelander and other cars i have seen on the road
Shocks seem to be ok no adverse roll or judder with the new tyres fitted.

Wife a stickler for speeding she works for the police and does not break the posted national speed limit
Car probably does no more than average 30 miles a day
Heaviest thing in the back is the dog
Was told by Renault their technicians cost 15000 pounds to train
Should really think about getting their training somewhere else me thinks

not criticising or defending anyone here,but i`m a tech myself and i`ve worked in places where SOMETIMES the techs know what`s wrong,but are restricted in what they can/cannot do due to costs or whatever. after all,they can only do what the people in charge allow them to do.
i`m not saying that this is ok by any means,just saying that it`s not ALWAYS the techs to blame.

I know, I realised I was wrong to tar everyone like that, so apologies.
And it's not just Renault, so I should make that clear too.
The main stealers seem to want as much return back for their £15k as they can get, and if your problem is off the menu then their seems precious little chance of a solution. Its just personal experience in general and my reluctance to entrust anything I can do myself to anyone else

Just trying to help out. What does she check them with? Has it been calibrated? It could be under/over reading by quite a bit.

It's cornering that wears tyres out more than speed. However it's more likely to wear the edges than the middle.
Last month I had the rears swapped to the front after 24k and they had about 4mm left on them. I'd hope for 30k out of the new ones if I don't swap them to the front again.

Your car is still under warranty so take it back to your dealer and get them to perform a laser alignment check on your suspension geometry, as it sound like it's very wrong to me.
Try searching the forum for Tyre wear.
I had this done at 8000 mile on my previous Megane Saloon as the Goodyears NCT5's I had on it were wearing on the outside edges.
Nothing was found to be wrong with it and the tyre wear settled down.
It's well documented and Renault are very aware of the problem of rear tyre wear.

cyclonebri1, i was`nt looking for an apology,never for one minute thought that you were tarring everyone with same brush,and it was`nt taken to heart,but thanks for taking the time to post it anyway
i do know what you meant about the trust thing,as when i`ve needed work done on my own motors and have`nt been able to get it into work or whatever,there`s very very few people whom i will trust with it. it has always fallen to somebody whom i`ve previously worked with and can trust.
