Hi Guys and Galls
Anyone come across this one? My 230 F1 ( 4300 miles ) makes an occasional clunk through the steering wheel when you take up the biting point in 1st or reverse. Doesn't do it if you're really gentle with it, however, didn't buy this thing to drive it like a 90 year old. Steering feels ok at all other times. Any suggestions before I throw it back at the dealer?
Cheers
Steve

Check engine & transmission mounts (most probably the gearbox mount and/or the one under the battery tray are knackered), and then check that the steering rack bolts are torqued properly.

Most probably be the steering column pinch bolt, there is a current modification out to cure it

Hello - I had the same symptoms on my 06 Plate 2.0 Dynamique, it was the nearside steering balljoint.
The lower front arm assembly was replaced under warranty.
This seems to have solved the problem, since then I have had no more knocking through the steering.
A loose steering wheel adjustment lever was also sorted at the same time.
