Key card

Postby james lee » Sat Dec 08, 2007 9:00 pm

Can anyone help! i have, until i can get rid of it a 2003 megane with high milage and 1 key card. I used it thursday with no problems, On Friday morning tried to start the car and was met with a message "card not detected". Break down service could not help Renault Liverpool quote £185 for a new card or £85 for a re code. is there anyone else who has suffered this without warning and is there any other way around this costly issue.

Yep i feared as much now have to arrange a tow to renault liverpool with the problem of the steering lock on the heap being on. Added to the fact that it is facing the wrong way on the drive.

Don't worry about that, any experienced recovery assistant can easily get round that.

Yes one card and one card only with the car, i would be grateful if someone could let me know anyway around this problem as i really don't want to pay £190.00 for a new card.

i've no idea how they manage it, but used cards are not able to be re-programmed.
