1st year service

my car is now due for a service (56plate 2.0vvt G Scenic)its done 8.5k since april but because i bought it pre registered the year is up and the service indicator is showing.

i did not realise this and thought i would have to get it serviced in april 08.
anyway my dealer wants £230 for this service which seems quite high, but as its under warranty i should let renault do it.

does this sound high or is this about right its Reargroup in enfield north london.

You do not have to have it serviced at a Renault dealer to keep your warranty intact; as long as you use a VAT registered garage that attends to all the service items, uses genuine Renault parts and uses the correct grade of oil and stamps the service book you will be alright.

Have you tried any other Renault dealerships for a quote?

Have you thought about trying somewhere out of the London area if that's an option for you?

I got 3 quotes from different renault dealers for my 1st service, cheapest was £157, most expensive £230, so it pays to shop around.

The first (12mth) service on my 1.4 was £196. I had my second (12mth) service yesterday which cost £216. I can't see that there would be much difference in what they would do to a 2.0 and a 1.4 as they are both petrol engines.
