Passenger side dipped beam problem

Postby trebor2510 » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:56 pm

Hi folks,

I bought a 1.5 derv last year and so far it's been okay.

Recently I've lost the wheel arch access cover to the passenger side headlights. The other day the headlight refused to work. Luckily I've small wrists, so was able to fit a new bulb, but that also refused to work.

Has anybody got suggestions as to what the possible cause of the problem is? I assumed that the lack of the wheel arch access cover wasn't too important as the wiring connector is covered by the bog standard plastic cap...

Thanks,

Clueless Rob

Hi Rob,

There is fusebox sitting directly above the access hatch and many suffered from water ingress into it. It is winter now and there is salt on the roads, which corrodes wires. The ECU with all its connectors is also not too far... Check the fusebox first. If it is dry inside, then remove the bumper, the light and check everything. For instructions see my message in the Links section.

Welcome, BTW.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for that - will attempt to get enough space to sort it out tomorrow. :-)
