Postby monkertron » Fri Nov 30, 2007 9:40 am

Here's a stupid one, someone kindly pointed out i have no reverse lights at present, I'm positive i've only always noticed one reverse light on my megane, is this the case or is there two? And i've just only always had one working! Megane II 04.

Yup....there are definately supposed to be two reverse lights.
Although this has triggered me to ask another question about rear lights. Are there supposed to be two fog lights on the back of the Megane??

Anyway, at least the rear lights a damn sight easier to replace than the front ones!

There is 2 rear fog lights at the back, BUT only one is wired up.
You can drag a wire from the working one and put it on the one that isn't connected.

It should be somewhere under the gear lever I think, pull the gaiter up and have a look

Was looking for this sort of info on renault forum, apparently the sensor/switch is on the gearbox itself in that dark oily area under the bonnet, it has a green connector with two wires, the connector can be tricky to remove but a quick test is to remove connectr, short out the connector and apply juice if bulbs light then get a new switch/sensor, it unscrews from the gearbox. apparently it is on the topside of the gearbox so no transmission oil will fall out, have not looked at mine yet so cant confirm but know from other car (not ren) that the sensor was there. have fun looking......
