The Mégane II Owners' Club

Just had mine in for MOT dreading it because of knocking on steering(read other post by me) but instead it failed on the horn not being loud enough!! Apparently it has to be audible inside another car and mine wasn't. Sure it was the testers ear wax but he wasn't having that!!! In all fairness i left it with him an hour and went back by which time it had passed. Mechanic said because the horn is aluminium they oxidise which creates powder which blocks them where the sound comes from so he had to hit it with a hammer to clear it!! So if anyone has this problem get out your majic hammer!!!

So is this a special fit too, and cannot be replaced by cheap good steel horn, any advice. Is it fitted to Alu or Steel, potential corrosion issue, if steel get a cheap replacement ! haven't tried it myself though ..
