just got the car back no fault found as usual (9th time in garage) the car starts ok but when drawing away 1st 2nd gear the car misfires and sometimes you get a flat spot then it takes off it stinks of rotten eggs if you are at the back of it Renault grangemouth has had it 8 times and Stirling once the mechanic from grangemouth has came out in the car with me and felt the problem but it comes up no fault on the computer so they cant do anything with it he also asked me what kind of fuel I use (Tesco’s) he said don’t use that cheep supermarket crap the cars don’t run right on it their is no additives in it (the petrol all comes from the same depot in grangemouth) the car is now 19 months old and has only got 6300 miles on the clock they have replaced r/h rear light (water in it),
Rear off side door handle, complete sunroof, and about every 300-400 miles the change oil soon comes up on display to which I reset myself
can anybody help me

Have any of the coil packs been changed?
I seem to remember something about having to have the ECU reprogrammed on the 1.4 to fix running problems but this was a long time ago?
Fuel can be a problem, try running on Shell or Shell V-Power for a tankful or so and see if anything improves. Fuel additives are put in at the Tanker filling stage (I think?)
What has been done to the car already?
What's the performance and MPG like?
What sort of driving do you do?
Can I suggest you follow this

You are only doing a very low mileage each day, not good for any car
You say on A roads, what sort of speeds 30, 40 or upto 60mph?
It could be that your car is not reaching full operating temperature, this is why your CAT is smelling like rottens eggs!
Has the oxygen sensor been checked and tested?
When was the car last serviced?
Can I suggest you give the car a good long run at high speed to see if it improves at all?

I'm confuesed here?
How long have you owned the car? From new?
When was the car made (not registered) Look in your service book and it will be on a sticker on the front page)
The service indicator (miles to next service) should not keep appearing every 300-400 miles if you reset it? (this would indicate a potential ECU fault!)
Are you sure you are on the right service schedule?
I'm sorry but I think the garage you are using are stuck in the routine that if the computer shows no fault then there's nothing wrong?
The "Technicians" are obviously not very good at fault diagnosis without their CLIP machine.
Computers lie! I work with them day in and out (370 to be precise!)
If the CLIP is not recording a fault code then it has to be a process of elimination.
This is where a good "Mechanic" come into his/her own.
Can you try another dealer?

You are confused I am frustrated
It was the garage that showed me how to reset it; it just goes back to 18000 miles
There is a local garage who has taken it for a spin he noticed the problems but because the car is under warranty he is not allowed to touch it. The Renault dealer said if it doesn’t fault on the clip they will not touch it a Renault will not pay them for the parts they replace as for Renault mechanics they are only part changers I am already dealing with Renault customer complaints on these issues it’s the second Renault dealer that the car has been to but Arnold Clark has everything sown up in Scotland
