light fuses on F1 team 230 R26

Postby jaybyme » Wed Nov 14, 2007 6:54 am

Hi ,
just fitted new leds from shiny autos, interior looks much better now.
Just a small problem that is growing into a large one.
I manged to blow a fuse replacing the tail gate number plate lights.
Now I have no right handside side light front and rear and no number plate lights.
So the question is, where the F..... ! is the fuse located.
Not in the small fuse box below steering wheel, checked.
Been to Renault and they say it must be under the bonnet with the main fuses.
This seems hard to believe as it's a 30-60 min job just to get to the box??
Also the fuses ,which you can just see are all between 40-70 amp.
A little large for a 5w side light !!
The brake light fuse is only 15amp,bulbs 21w and the fuse is where you would expect inside the car.
So ,either it's true what Renault are saying and they have really built a car that will cost me 60-100 pounds to change a side light fuse.
Or there's a small fuse located some where else.
Can anyone please help ?
thanks
Jay

R26 fuses

Contacted Adam,
he was very helpfull, but went to a Renault dealer in the end, as I couldn't believe the amount of work needed to replace a fuse.
Watched them remove battery, battery holder etc just to get to the fuses.
Cost me €105, so I won't be so stupid and use a screwdriver to prise the bulbs out next time
At least the Led's give the car a better quality look :-)

i didn't fancy paying an extortionate amount for a fuze, so did it myself, took about 45 mins....a ridiculous amount of time for such a small fuse, that in most cars is in the glove box....have taken some pictures but don't know how to post them on here...

I did word for word exactly the same.

I have just come in from a cold and windy day after 2 hours of repalcing a fuse. The person who signed off, or thought it was a good idea to put the fuse box in such a stupid place should have their hairy nuts waxed and pulled :banghead
