Heater

Postby gillyd88 » Mon Nov 12, 2007 8:24 pm

My heater fan is making funny noises. Its like the fun is hitting something and making a right racket. Just wondering if anyone knows a quick fix for it or do i have to go to a garage?

Thanks

I have this sometimes and it goes if i turn fan on full then off a few times. Someone told me it could be a leaf getting through to the fan. Although pollen filter should stop that happening.

Nah, tried the pollen filter, gave it a good shake. Tried the fan without it, still the noise and put it back in till i get the new one and still the noise. Also tried the heater on full power for a bit to see if that got rid but still the noise!

Bugger. No fix for this then :-(

Mine started 'ticking' today and turning it on full blast and off again a few times didn't resolve it :banghead

I have had that with myne it wasnt a leaf although it sounds like it it is just a slight bit of rust in the motor i just took my motor out and squirted wd40 into it and kept spining it and then put some oil on it and its been fine for the past 2 years

Just looked at the diagrams -- the fan seems to be included in the circuit before the filter. No wonder debris get into it.

I had this ticking sound from it a couple of times. Operating the fan at the full power for a few minutes solved the problem.
