Car pulling slightly to one side

Postby zammov » Fri Nov 09, 2007 5:03 pm

I have a magane saloon 1.6 petrol. I've been driving it for about 18 months now. I am noticing that the car is pulling slightly to the driver's side. Don't know whether it has been always like this or it developed now. I took it for wheel alignment but everything seems to be ok.

Any suggestions????

well if its had the tracking done and all the wheels are balanced it might be down to something a bit more serious, bent rim, steering rack bent, if it had been involved in a bump, etc.

Not to clued up on the situation tho, someone with a bit more knowledge might be able to help you out.

The brakes might be binding a little, feel how warm the wheel is next time you've been for a drive and compare it with the temperature of the other wheel. I assume both front tyres are the same make so it probably won't be down to rolling resistance. If your tyre pressures are OK then maybe a strut bush has worn.

check the tyre pressures first (although if tracking been done, they should have checked pressures, but you never know!!),+ swap wheels from side to side to see if the problem moves with the wheels.
all this is assuming you don`t have pressure sensors fitted!

I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be wheel balancing.
I had also very little vibrations almost unnoticed when exceeding 90 Km/hr.After I did wheel balancing at a specialist all this was gone forever.
By the way they could not help at Renault.
