After 9 months, numerous courtesy cars and a two snotty calls and emails to rcs, they have agreed to fit yet another clutch. my only worry is that now i'm out of warranty (they are still paying though as it was an ongoing problem) if it now turns out not to be the clutch, which i suspect it isn't, will they pay for any other parts!! who's willing to take a bet
Thuis is all down to a nasty whirring just on the biting point of the clutch which only happens when warm and when the clutch is holding the whole car ie hill start or crawling up a slight incline in traffic. Took three diagnostic sessions and finally a live roadtest with senior technincian to point out that the car was making a noise.
On a lighter note I@ll be getting it back tonight so will post with further details, i also have a Twingo GT as a courtesy car, it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just remind us of the original problem please as there have been a number of problems with the dual mass flywheels on 1.9dCi's.

Way back In dec/jan when lifting the clutch to either move away or to hold it on a bank or incline, just on the biting point a whirring squeally noise was emitted from the passenger footwell, when pressing the clutch pedal back in the noise stopped. this was temporarily rectified by having a clutch kit fitted and slave cylinder replaced. however two months later when in traffic or on a bank the noise returned and got progressivley worse. it has then taken all the techs at holdcroft crewe and stoke seven months to diagnose the problem, (which incidentley they haven't told me what it actually is, ) and fit a new clutch today, when I pick it up later i will ask what the problem actually was and what parts they have fitted and repost later!
