Screen scuttle panel

Postby overandunder » Thu Oct 18, 2007 7:22 pm

I have a 2005 1.9dCi Sport Tourer (ok, the estate if you prefer!) which I've owned for a couple of months and am very pleased with. I jJust have a question regarding with the scuttle plate/panel(?) holding the rubber seal which runs across the back of the engine bay. It's bowed and not making contact with the underside of the bonnet.

Not a huge problem I hear you cry, but debris falling leaves, etc are finding their way into the engine bay - and noise / fumes are probably going in the other direction. It just looks as if my mother in law has sat on it for ten minutes - (or a strapping mechanic has 'rested' an arm there).

Anyone know how its supported and how easy a job it would be to take out and repair / replace? I have had a look round but can't see any obvious brackets so am guessing that its support is moulded in and is now, err, stuffed!

Thanks
1.9DCi Sport Tourer

I have the same problem with my 2006 5dr hatch.

Any information would be good.

It is held in place by plastic 'screews' at either side.

When these are removed it is further held by clips. (just pull it off)

These are interchangeable between all meganes. So you can find a replacement at any scrap yard.

I wouldn't say its a part that is in demand so won't cost to much.
