Service at a Renault dealer?

Postby jlscott » Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:19 pm

I wasn't sure where to post this so forgive me if its in the wrong place :)

What are peoples recommendations when it comes to a full service? Is it best to visit an official Renault dealer or are they vastly over priced? Is there a standard service charge before any maintenance work and what's the going rate?

Cheers,
Jason

up to my knowledge, i think u can do service in any garage
specially when ur car is out of warrenty and when it goes low cost !!!

wateva is renault, its still a car not a palne nor a rocket !!! :?

we got a mercedes S350 which is more complicated and far more expensive than a reanult and we do periodical service in a normal garage !

the only matter u will face is some msgs will keep flashing up and u can solve that by pressing the odometer stick reset for about 10 seconds and thats it... :D

Jason if it's still in warranty it doesn't have to be done at a Renault garage it can in fact be done at any VAT registered garage as long as they use genuine Renault parts.

If it's out of warranty take it to any recommended local garage of your choice.

Cheers, its out of the official 3 year warranty so I'll ask my local garage. At the 54k mark is there anything particularly special that is serviced?

Also, if you get a service whilst its still under the used dealers warranty, can anything major that's picked up be repaired under that warranty?

Make sure you get quote first and check what it incudes(parts etc). As in one of my previous posts my bill turned out to be almost £200 more than quote. Apparently parts weren't included in quote. Any faults which needed replacing i could understand but i had been charged for oil filter, washer fluid etc. So beware and ask exactly what it includes. But definately go to an independant if you can.
