Engine cover or no engine cover?

Hi, I'm a newbie, and I have a question which it seems Renault themselves are unable to answer unequivocally! I've a 54 plate 1.4 petrol 5dr HB. On opening the bonnet having taken delivery, there was no engine cover, i.e. the leads from the coils could clearly be seen. The owner's manual showed the familiar silver grey engine cover in the illustrations, but Renault themselves suggested I ask other owners! The garage(former Renault dealers) I bought it from told me that Renault had stopped fitting them, but I'm not entirely convinced, especially as I am in dispute with the garage over a 'lost' service history(but that's another story!) Can anyone help?
TIA
Joolz

Mine's a Dynamique 05

No engine cover but I have just looked in the brochure I had prior to ordering my car (yes - I still have it!) and the 1.4 has not got a silver cover - only the 2.0 and 1.6 have these, the diesels have black/grey ones, the 1.4 shows the coils (as you said).

Hi Stevie

With all due respect - I don't think for a minute that it would fit properly, maybe you could make some brackets yourself? Not sure though! :D

Rob

Thanks...
