The Mégane II Owners' Club

Just noticed a small 'clunk' through the steering column while coming off full lock, not there when you turn the wheel left to right quickly (not going to full lock). Something is amiss and I thought I read something about this a while back but cannnot find it.

Is this a known issue?

Yes, it's a known issue discussed earlier, unless you've got something else. It is not safety critical, but needs to be done anyway. The fix involves application of some sort of resin compound to a joint and replacement or re-tightening of a bolt. I can't remember the particulars now, but it was a quick job (an hour or so) under the warranty. Webcode described the details -- search his messages.

It's your steering pinch bolts. Take it to your Stealer and they'll fix it for you
