My dad has just achieved 63mpg in his 1.9dCi Sports Saloon on a trip down to Norfolk (about 230 miles, observing speed limits )
This is the most he's ever got out of it. Normally it's about 42-44mpg on mixed driving, so he's well chuffed with this new figure
He's there for the next 2 weeks, and is going to try and improve on my record of 66mpg which I achieved whilst on holiday there last year.

Megane fuel consumption
Just spotted this topic. I have a 54 plate 1.6 VVT Sport tourer and on a recent trip from Glasgow to Oban I got 52.5 mpg. Earlier this year on a weeks holiday to Lossiemouth (up near Elgin for those who don't know) I managed 50.3 MPG over 800 miles so I am very pleased with that level of consumption. On shorter journeys its not so good but anything over 5 miles or more should still be in the 40s.
MPG scenic 2
Hi there new to all this but here goes. Just done a run to longleat and back to grays essex and managed after 103 miles around the M25+M4 68.9 but averaged over the whole trip 61.9 not bad for a 62000 mile scenic 2 2003 1.5 dci.
1.9dci120 I average 44-49 mostly wife driving to work 6 miles mostly town but with a two mile bypass blast ( which she does blast usually late for work) however I find that the quicker I go the better it gets I've done crewe to southampton and back in day twice, 400 mile round trip averaging 80-90 and got 54.5 mpg. yes I dont understand either
usual probs but love the car!!

What's the calculation to work actual MPG... I have the receipt somewhere telling me how much I filled up with.

Right you lot, beat this !!!!! lol
Started car this morn. trip said 525 miles since fillup & fuel guage showed just over 1/4 tank.Left kings lynn & travelled to norwich, diss, hadleigh, sudbury, bury st edmunds, ely, & back to kings lynn.Bear in mind each town mentioned included calling on customers to carry out windscreen repairs. (ie:stop/start & shunting around yards)
I did not drive like a granny,in fact i often exceeded the speed limit(i know...no preaching i'm old enough to know better !!) & when i got home the trip read 716 miles (the fuel warning light came on at 711 miles showing 72 miles left).Filled up & fuel consumption, worked out on paper was 57.9 mpg, computor showed 54.7 mpg.
These figures are not a one off,i achieve similar results nearly every fill up.

My 04 plater has now got 58750 miles on clock,so it's well loose(like it's owner !!),& has been more economical since fitting 'p box' & free flow air filter. Because of the extra torque, less throttle & revs are needed = more economy.
