I managed 64.6mpg in a 1.5Dci 3 door this weekend. Semi-combined, i.e 2 hours of motorway and a couple of trips through the city (in total about 200 miles). On just the motorway i managed to hit over 71mpg. Highest i've had over a full tank according to the dash was 67.3mpg on a trip to Plymouth, that was fully loaded with camping gear too. But I was really crusing to try max figures. My mothers 1.5Dci 3 door is currently sitting at 69.8mpg over 6000 miles. I'm glad I dont have to go in the car with her, she must crawl everywhere for that figure with rush hour traffic involved too. Both are the 80Bhp models.

My new 07 Megane seems to only be hovering around the 48mpg mark. Is this what I should expect? I mostly (90%) drive on the A1 to work 10 miles a day and set the cruise control to 70 mph for the journey.

Car is a 106 bhp, 1.5 dCi 2007 Megane.

my best ever for mpg was today, 56 (facelifted) plate 1.9dci megane.

went from reading to manchester and back, started with a full tank of diesel and finished with half. 61mpg! varied speeds and lots of stop start on the motroway on the way up.
had a boot full of luggage and my other half and 10 yrd son.

really pleased with the ecomony, have noticed a difference since the car has hit over 40k in miles, its now at 53k!

Yeh, that's normal... it's part of the package when you choose the biggest engine!

I've also got the 2.0 VVT and get about 29 MPG average, and I'm on motorways quite a bit.

Worth every penny though, the engine is a dream.

Doesn't sound right. When was the last service?

Perhaps it could do with a new air filter. Also, try adding some of that petrol additive such as REDEX. It cleans the injectors and boosted my fuel consumption to 41 MPG on a motorway run with 5 people in the car - And I've definitely noticed a decline since I stopped using it.

Thanks for that buddy!

Yer need to check it! It is not due for another 10k! So should be ok but well worth a try! What type of Redex would you recommend?? I had a Green Panel filter in my Leon would you recommend that? Any other thoughts would be good too!

Cheers Pacey

Well i get 32MPG from my 1.4 which is terrible considering the car has no power either. I will hopefully be getting a 1.5 dci because those MPG figures stated here are amazing in comparison to what i get.

On a steady run I get mid 30's for my 2 litre. Its a thirsty big beast but love my car to bits so will have to put up with it. I have started putting in Redex and will be putting in Slick 50 into the engine when I get paid next to give it a helping hand with the mpg.

Mind you most of my driving is about town as use my push bike for my commute to work so cant really complain in a way due to the driving conditions.

My 1.5dCi 106 Dynamique Sport Tourer has covered 96000 miles in just over 4 years and has never dropped below 50mpg. And I'm not an old farty either in case you were wondering! :ner
