Rear quarter body panel: aluminium or steel?

Can anyone clarify whether the rear quarter body panel directly above the rear wheelarch is aluminium or metal? I had a bit of paint touch-up done in the area and what looks like very slight rusting has started.

It's steel, aluminium does not rust
