AUTO WIPERS FAULT :(

Postby Reno » Sat May 12, 2007 9:20 pm

Hello

I got a R.Megane II 1.6 16v touring.

I have a problem with my front wiper.

It`s says "Auto wipers fault" in the message box, and there is light in "SERVICE".

When i put wiper in pos. 2 i just run normal, it´s not going i "sensor mode" there is no function either with 1 drop or 4 drop.

conclusion: my rainsensor / wiper not work ok

Any idea. (i have seen the question before in this forum, but no good idea :)

Yours faithfully, Reno from Denmark

We had "auto wiper fault" come up once, however the wipers were still working fine in auto mode. Told the dealer and they changed the sensor under warranty and have never had the message again.
At the end of the day... ..it gets dark

Does the fault message always show? as the wipers are very erratic when there is a slight drizzle and hardly ever set themselves to intermittent. Wondering if something is not right.

Do the wipers have to be in intermittent setting for the auto wipers function to work, as I do not have a manual ?

You can also adjust the senstivity of them by turning the collar - higher number of drips makes it more sensitive.

Also remember on the pre phase II you have to reset them after you have switched off i.e. switch them off then back on again :)
