Drivers seat condition

The drivers seat on my 05 Sports Hatch is rubbing up quite badly on the lower wing of the seat (not sure of exact name, part that supports your side closest to the door).

The car has done 18,000 miles, is there are remedy to this bobbling effect on the fabric, as i very much doubt renualt will do anything as its just 'wear and tear'

By the way im average height and weight and dont wear sandpaper suits so i dont know why its rubbed up so badly

Any ideas appreciated.

I had the same problem myself and when I took it to the dealers they replaced the covering of the seat so it is as it was when I bought it now.

So i could have it replaced under warranty?.....that suprises me, mine is coming up for its 20K service so i'l ask them to do it then

Hi Dan

You can try, you have nothing to lose have you.

I would double check your service interval, it is normally either 12k or 18k. I have never heard of a 20k service interval.

Ah really, well tbh the service interval on the trip interval is reading about 1500miles left and ive done around 18.5K......something up?

Personally mate I would take a trip to the dealers just to be on the safe side.

My service was 18k but I know others have been 12k.

I think i have solved the issue, i suddenly rememberd when i brought the car early March it had done 11K, but it already had its service done.......its 12K service early i assume, so the trip computer must have been reset, so that it will be knocking on 20k before its next service is needed.


Still i think i will book it in for its service this week, i do about 500miles a week so i'l get it done ASAP, probably early
