Postby ghosty123 » Thu Apr 19, 2007 1:05 pm

Hi,
I have a Megane II estate and cannot understand from the user manuals diagrams how to turn the ultrasonic volumetric sensor off and on.Any help appreciated as the dog keeps setting it off when i sometimes have to leave him in the car.

If that works let us know cos i've been given so many alternatives and never got any of them to work. My dad has constant problems with the dogs in his Grande Scenic

Hi

Turn the car off, open the door, press start button on & off 5 times in quick sucession, (so 10 times all together) get out and lock (without deadlocking). Alarm will beep 4 times to confirm! :D

I could never understand why it was such a complicated way of doing such a simple job.

My car now has a simple switch in the door trim that I press when exiting the car. It has a light in it to show that the sensors have been disabled, then I just lock the car as usual.... so much simpler. :)

i know this is an old thread...but i can't get this process to work, I'm having issues with the extreme cold weather and setting the alarm off (from what ive read this is a sensitivity issue and has to be altered by the stealer).
Anyway i knew there was a way to lock the car without setting the alarm, found this thread and the FAQ, but it didn't seem to work for me, no beeping from the alarm . :banghead
1. Stop car (press start/stop button to stop engine)
2. press start/stop 5 times quickly
3. remove keycard
4. open door, get out, close door
5. lock doors (not deadlock)

now ive re-read the thread do i need to open the door before pressing the button 5 times, and should keycard be in or out of slot ?

If I just remove the sensors off the rear C pillar will that stop the alarm from going off?

Just put a little bit of tape over the front of the sensor. (The bit that looks like a tiny speaker.) That should do it.

Didn't work with the tape, so ripped the feckers off the pillars...

So you were sure it was the interior sensors then!

...and not the bonnet switch.
