What is this random wire?

Ok, so maybe not a 'problem' as such, but I was cleaning my car today, so extensively that I took the carpet up in the boot and found a strange wire...




I've no idea what it is for, do you know? Its just two wires with a small connector...




Can anybody shed any light on this? Something for rear parking sensors maybe? Or for an amp or sub?

Oh and to share the prettiness of my car after a clean and a good layer of wax... Hehe!

I think its the pre-wiring for the keyless entry rear antenna or something? I'm assuming your car doesn't have keyless entry... I'm sure there is an attenna back there for one if the car does have it, I'm not sure!

No I don't have handsfree entry, but would the antenna be in the floor of the boot? Surely it would make more sense for it to be in the roof? Then again... it is a Renault! lol.

As you say it's a Renault so the antenna is liekly to end up in the middle lane of the M25 when it falls off one day

That is the wiring rear aerial for the keyless start. There should be one in the centre console somewhere I think.

Hi,
I was cleaning my car today, and found underneath the passenger seat a looped coil/wire, I thought at first it was another secret storage, what is this, it certinly aint another secret storage box, anybody throw a light on this for me mine is a megane expression 86dci.

I don't think I have Heated seats, just hope I haven't disturbed anything by gently pulling on it. Thanks anyway
