Tailgate Release

Postby R34L15T » Mon Apr 09, 2007 8:52 pm

Hey guys,

New to the forum. My mum got a saloon Megane, 55plate - 1.4 - Seems like a good car so far, but had a couple of problems as it's a Cat D.

I was wondering if the button which is suppose to release the boot gate, actually releases the whole thing - I mean i press it but it doesn't do anything, hazard lights just come up, but the boot doesnt release. Is it suppose to be like this?

Thanks..

I have a saloon, but mine doesn't have such a button... Maybe you could post a pic of the button you are reffering to...

Hi yes that is for the boot. If you press it when the doors are locked the hazards should flash once and the boot will be open. To lock they flash twice when the doors are locked.

As far as I know anyway! But I dont use my card because its hands free but im pretty sure thats how it works 8)

All doors need to be closed in order for it to work. Really gay.

I thought you meant a button inside the cabin... That, just unlocks it (while the rest of the doors remain locked), but does not open it...

Tailgate Release

Postby Jonault » Tue Apr 10, 2007 10:32 am

It's a real shame that Renault couldn't have included a remote release for the boot/tailgate especially as they have included so many other toys on the vehicle. It seems that every time I reach under the lip of the hatch to press the release button, my fingers get covered in the cr4p that accumulates above the number plate. :(

If Renault had included one no doubt the tailgate would fall off when you pressed it :?
