Dynamique door handles cracking
I had a quick search through the posts and can't find anything on this one, 05 plate Dynamique door handles cracking, it's the small silver covers about the size of your thumb, they seem to have numerous cracks starting at the door and running at 90deg to the base, the removable one on the N/S/F door is OK.
Can't wait to hear the garage say "it's a characteristic and they all do it sir, and they are within Renault tolerances".

Hi Sam, I to have this problem I hadnt noticed until you posted it.
It looks like the cover is on to tight and it is starting to crack. Will get onto my dealers as soon as possible to get that sorted.

My cars just turned two years old so it's still under warranty, the guy i talked to seemed to think it was a door strip down to change them, so not looking forward to the leaks and rattles that i will probably get as a free gift.
He was also surprised that i hadn't had any window problems yet (down on it's own), they must be busy with these at the moment.
I'll post the outcome when the parts are fitted.

All of mine were replaced under warranty about 2 years back when
the car was 12 months old, the brushed alloy parts were fine, it was
the smaller bits that are in fact plastic.
I'm sure this has been discussed on here before as some members
said that their dealer would not replace, I had no problems with mine...
I was quite suprised to be honest !!

This is a very common problem, but the mouldings are not available seperately.. They come included with a new handle at £100 each!!
However I have around 20 brand new mouldings in my tool box available for a small BEER consideration if anyone is interested PM me..

Conspiracy?
Hi,
This forum is starting to scare me. Everytime I read a thread my car seems to develop the problem!
I read the thread about the windows going down on their own and staying there. I thought at least that hasn't happened to me... then 2 bloody days later.
I read this thread on Wednesday and drove the car on Thursday to visit my parents over Easter. When I got there my Dad started looking puzzled at the door... so naturally I assumed a scratch. But oh no, a cracked handle moulding. We checked the others, and they were all the same. How does the car know?? Its some big conspiracy.
I've just read a thread about a fuse box replacement. I think I'm doomed.

Same thing is happening to my handles too, i just put it down to wear n tear due to the scottish winter all that frost cant be good for metal, rapid expansion and contraction would probably be the cause.
