Airbag connector

Hi,
so my service light has been on for a month or so, it is overdue! I haven't had time to put it in for a service. now my air bag light has come on. when i start the car the airbag light comes on and then goes off. the airbag light will then come back on after about 5secs and then stays on. I have had a read through and believe that its possibly something to do with the wiring under the seats as it only came on after dd had cleaned and hoovered the car thoroughly. I want to see if i can sort this myself as i like to learn how to do these things. I believe I have found the air bag connector under the seat (brown and blue wires into orange clip?) but i cant seem to get it unplugged and don't want to force it. it doesn't seem to just unplug, probably something stupid i'm missing but if anybody can give advice be greatly appreciated.
